Experience

Sarah Pearce is an experienced home cook and freelance writer. She has been cooking with her family since childhood. Sarah enjoys experimenting in her home kitchen, bringing modern twists to old favorites. One of her goals is to keep her family traditions alive through food. She regularly bakes with sourdough, makes kefir, brews kombucha, and preserves fruits and veggies.   Sarah has been a Suzuki violin teacher since 2003. She is passionate about helping children and adults grow through music. She was a guest presenter at the American Suzuki Institute at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. She also co-presented a lecture titled Planning a Weekend Workshop for the Suzuki Association of America’s Virtual Leadership Retreat in 2009. She was secretary of the Suzuki Association of Indiana from 2019-2023.   Above all, she enjoys sharing her experiences with others, whether baking or teaching. She hopes to keep teaching others about her experiences as she discovers new ideas and re-explores familiar concepts. When she’s not cooking or teaching, she enjoys her backyard garden. She’s currently working on starting her own website to share her personal family recipes: cookingwithcinnamon.com. Sarah is also training her new puppy to be a therapy dog.

Education

Sarah graduated from the University of Evansville in 2005. While there, she studied music education and received her Suzuki pedagogy certification. During her university years, she explored creative writing. The small class sizes at this midwestern university allowed her to focus on honing her teaching skills.
