Words are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity. We can choose to use this force constructively with words of encouragement, or destructively using words of despair. Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble.

Words are Powerful
So, We are changing our Mission STATEMENT

We’re on a mission to help everyone eat better and save more is not doing it for me. It’s always nagged at me for some reason and I didn’t realize what was off until yesterday.

I started my company because I wanted to empower people to have the tools they needed to live better lives.  Stretch, the app (Will have a re-launch within the next 2 weeks) was to be the foundation for this.  The foundation for an awesome tool that could help people navigating the grocery store for the first time maximize their dollars by spending what they have towards eating awesomely at home.  This foundational tool would be able to allow us to create more awesome technological solutions based on the data we had to lead to more innovation.  This tool would grant us access to products and pricing and the ability to pair people’s preferences with the products we love.

This way, no annoying ads and pop-ups, greater conversion, highly targeted searches and we could do this while shifting people’s diets to eat better and better.

So when I thought about this in combination with the hurdles I’ve experienced,  I remembered that we are not helping people. Yes, people need help.  I need help, but people’s idea of help is so varying.  Some people’s idea of help is to open a door, or hold a door, while others are the fact that they didn’t stand in your way of opening the door.  Some people’s idea of help is giving you something to sustain you for one day, rather than teaching you how to sustain a lifetime.  I’m not here to do any of those things.  I’m here to empower people by providing them with the tools so that the door can always open for them, so they can sustain their lifetime as well as for their future generations.

I don’t want to live in a world where people are denied the tools they need because it’s an inconvenience to other business models.  I don’t want to live in a world where people can never sustain by themselves because they are always crippled by help.  I definitely don’t want to live in a world where businesses are punished for building products that solve social problems.

I want to live in a world where people have access to what they need to succeed.  Where they can determine their success.  Where businesses are rewarded for doing the best thing for their employees, customers, users, and the environment and are encouraged for investing in ways to make that the most profitable.

Our company is not here to be a gatekeeper, we are here to post giant TV monitors and direction arrows at the flood gates so when everyone stands in line for what they need, they can see all of their options, they know how to reach them.  We are here to ensure that people who are unable to see, can see.  We are here to provide vision, but more so to empower.

So without further delay, our new mission statement:

“We are on a mission to EMPOWER everyone to eat better and save more.”
